Projects

The main objective of the evaluation was to provide the relevant external cooperation services of the European Union, the Government of Nicaragua, MARENA, associations of municipalities and, where appropriate, the wider public with:

• An independent overall assessment of the performance of the intervention (Project Governance in the Lake Cocibolca), paying particular attention to the results the project against its objectives;

• Analyse the adequacy of the original project formulation in contrast with the changes in environmental conditions, including national and local actions in the territory, development of national policies and the cooperation activities in the project area;

• Provide recommendations useful to manage ongoing projects and to design and implement new future actions.

The project has been implemented by two experts and the following activities have been developed:

• Review of relevant documents;

• Review of the intervention logic of the project, and analysis of the logical framework;

• Participation in the briefing and debriefing with the Delegation;

• Participation in the briefing and debriefing with the project management unit, the head of international technical assistance (JATI) and the authorities of MARENA;

• Reporting.
