Sectorial Mapping of Pan-African Civil Society Organisations
The overall objective of the assignment is to support the EU Delegation to promote a meaningful and structured dialogue with and participation of pan-African CSOs in the policy and decisionmaking
process of the AU and the RECs. In particular, this assignment aims to:
- Provide relevant contextual information about the pan-African civil society landscape and formulate recommendations for improvement with a focus on the three priority sectors, namely Peace & Security, Energy and Trade, at continental and regional levels.
- Map out existing and emerging pan-African civil society organisations, networks and initiatives involved in those three priority sectors along a political economy approach, and appraise their respective profile and their capacity to engage in policy dialogue and to perform an effective advocacy role at regional and pan-African levels.
- Support responsive EU Delegation strategic planning with regard to supporting pan-African civil society actors in those three specific sectors, considering the available EU tools for engagement (namely political dialogue, public diplomacy and cooperation instruments) alongside the AU, RECS and other pan-African stakeholders.
