Study on best practices in Third Party Monitoring
The purpose of this assignment was to produce a study collecting and analysing existing best practice in Third Party Monitoring (TPM) as well as practices to avoid. The study defined the circumstances which need to be present in order to request TPM, highlight the criteria in choosing the third party. This included defining a code of conduct, analyse the risks and technical issues connected to this practice, reflect on a methodology for building trust and examine possible long term collaborations. The study paid particular attention to the specific needs and challenges linked to TPM in conflict-affected and fragile environments. Finally, the study addressed the implications for using TPM in light of data protection regulations.
